Tomorrow is the seventh anniversary of Obamacare. It’s also the day GOP leadership will hold a vote on the controversial GOP leadership replacement bill –it’s not a repeal -- called the American Health Care Act (AHCA or “ah-ka”). It’s been called “Obamacare 2.0.”

I am currently in Washington, D.C.  I’ll share more, but first…

I’m planning to do a FACEBOOK LIVE tomorrow. If all goes as planned, you can tune in at 10:30 a.m. EASTERN time (9:30 am CENTRAL). I’ll talk about Obamacare and the AHCA. Tune in. If anything changes, I’ll post it so you know.

I came to D.C. for the National Physicians’ Council for Healthcare Policy conference of more than 100 physicians hosted by Congressman Pete Sessions on Sunday and Monday.  As I listened to physicians talk about how difficult patient care has become due to Medicare regulations, managed care and electronic medical records, I thought about how little patients understand what’s really going on behind the scenes. So I tweeted and took a few video clips of the speakers and put them on Facebook

I also asked three doctors to do Facebook Live interviews. Their topics are: 1) what’s really happening in the clinic while you wait; 2) why patients, not insurers, should pay doctors; and 3) the joy of being a Direct Primary Care (DPC) doctor. The first two are here. The last one is here.

HHS Secretary Tom Price was supposed to speak to the physicians on Monday, but couldn’t come.  In his place was Patrick Conway, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Before he left, I gave him a list of seven ways Congress can restore freedom and affordability:

The remaining days have been filled with opportunities to share CCHF concerns about the American Health Care Act (op-ed of our objections) and bring new ideas to transform health care. Many think AHCA will fail. I have been in meetings with Members and/or staffers. I ran into Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and John McCain (R-AZ) and Rep. Phil Roe, MD (R-TN). As an added bonus, I gave a brief presentation at two large meetings of conservatives. And Ginni Thomas conducted a video interview for her series for The Daily Caller News Foundation. It’ll be online by Sunday at the latest.

Let’s make tomorrow the FINAL anniversary of Obamacare. Do try to tune in for our Facebook Live event!
