Americans Are Confused About Obamacare

Americans Are Confused About Obamacare
A majority of Americans are confused about Obamacare. Findings from a Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) survey of 2,534 people in the non-group (individual) market include:

1)Fifty-three percent (53%) think Obamacare exchanges are collapsing. It’s not yet true, however 64% of Republicans and 49% of Democrats believe it.

Stop Corporate Version of Single-Payer

Stop Corporate Version of Single-Payer

Republicans have a plan to save Obamacare. They have proposed a $60 billion payout for managed care corporations (“health plans”). The proposal includes $30 billion in reinsurance funds (transfer risk-bearing responsibility to taxpayers) and $30-$35 billion in cost-sharing reduction (CSR) subsidies, often called bailouts. That said, it now appears the payout may have been stripped from the must-pass (by Saturday) spending bill to be issued today.

Idaho Governor Goes Big-Against Obamacare

Idaho Governor Goes Big-Against Obamacare

Kudos to Idaho Governor “Butch” Otter! He’s doing what CCHF has been asking states to do. He’s opening up Idaho’s insurance market to policies NOT compliant with the ACA. He’s not waiting for Congress to repeal the ACA prohibition against catastrophic coverage.

GOP Obamacare Illusion - Don't Be Fooled

GOP Obamacare Illusion - Don't Be Fooled

David Copperfield would be impressed. The Republican plan to lower costs is a complex illusion.  The GOP wants to “stabilize” (prop up) the Affordable Care Act with billions from taxpayers.

Imposing Obamacare - State by State

Imposing Obamacare - State by State

Beware the newest Obamacare plan. Liberals are pushing states to reinstate the penalty for being uninsured—using state law. Here’s are five to-dos for states written by former Obama officials (with my definitions for what they really mean):

Socialized Medicine by Stealth

Socialized Medicine by Stealth

Congress isn’t done socializing American medicine. Socialized medicine is “any of various systems to provide the entire population with complete medical care through government subsidization and regularization of medical and health services.”

Penalty Gone, but Obamacare Remains

Penalty Gone, but Obamacare Remains

People are happy that the Obamacare penalty has ended. But just to be clear, the tax reform bill, which has been sent to President Trump today for his signature, does not repeal the ACA’s individual mandate or the penalty. It simply drops the penalty amount to zero.

Dissension in The Swamp

Dissension in The Swamp

President Trump promised to drain the swamp. But finding the plug in the boggy mire and pulling it out has proved difficult. That said, the swamp is no longer functioning with its usual efficiency. Congress is having more difficulty getting bills passed. There’s dissension in the ranks and impasse is common. That’s mostly a good thing.

Last night, CCHF’s 2017 fundraising dinner was packed with individuals who heard a message of hope for the future of health freedom from CCHF president Twila Brase and Fox News’ Pete Hegseth. One audience member later said what she loved the most was the optimism!
