Most people believe that the “HIPAA form” or the Notice of Privacy Practices protects their privacy. However, the reality is the HIPAA form simply states that you acknowledge and understand all the data disclosures allowed. It does not prevent your private health information from being shared without your consent.

CCHF’s Month-Long Educational Campaign Begins in April
ST. PAUL, Minn. — HIPAA became effective 20 years ago on April 14, 2003. For two decades, the American public has been led to believe that the “HIPAA Privacy Rule” protects their confidential medical records. To counter this false belief, the Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom will spend the month of April exposing HIPAA as a permissive data sharing rule.

In 2022, CCHF visited the Minnesota State Fair to interview fairgoers about HIPAA. Our goal was to see what people thought HIPAA stood for and what it accomplished. After hours of interviews, we learned that people have been deceived to believe that HIPAA protects their medical privacy.
Each person we spoke with was shocked to learn that the purpose of HIPAA is not to protect their private medical information – that it actually serves as a permissible data sharing rule.

Today is the 13th Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. Passed in 2010 and signed by President Obama 13 years ago, the ACA is designed to end health freedom as we know it. It was designed as a wealth redistribution scheme.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A bipartisan group of three Senators in the Minnesota legislature have introduced legislation to restore to patients the right to have their trusted physician admit and treat them during hospitalization. The bill establishes “the right of hospitalized patients to receive treatment from their own doctors.” Hospital privileges are not required.
