MN REAL ID BILL -- Requires Registration for Federal Driver's License

The Minnesota legislature, including House GOP leadership, plan to give you a Federal Driver's License -- under federal control.

The House has a hearing tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. The Senate hears the bill Friday. Please raise your voice now...or we will lose our freedom.

If these bills become law, say good-bye to state licenses, state's rights and individual autonomy.

Why would the state legislature agree to let the federal government commandeer -- take power over -- the documents you need for driving, identification, traveling, purchasing, and accessing services?

Once a State adopts REAL ID, the federal law gives the Secretary of the Dept. of Homeland Security sole authority to expand the "OFFICIAL PURPOSES" for which the card could be required, potentially to:

  • firearm and ammunition sales
  • beer and wine purchases
  • hotel registration
  • renting a car
  • accessing medical care
  • purchasing phone service
  • starting telephone service
  • cashing a check
  • getting a credit card
  • bank access
  • driving
  • and more...

There's no end to what the Secretary of Homeland Security could require the federal ID card/DL - to be used for. By law, they need no permission from Congress. This violates your freedom.

Everyone -- even if you're 75 or 80 or 100 years old -- will be forced to re-establish citizenship by providing a birth certificate and social security card for scanning into a federal database before being allowed to drive, fly or use REAL ID for identification.

Essentially, you'll have to re-register with the federal government to be approved as a legitimate U.S. citizen. Again, it's a Federal ID/DL.

Your data will enter the federal data verification "hub" located in Missouri, which was funded by a $17 million Homeland Security grant. The federal government will have POLICE POWERS in connection with this data.

There are 15 acceptable IDs for flight. In fact, no law requires an ID for flying. You can simply agree to enhanced TSA screening (Gilmore vs. Gonzales). You can fly without REAL ID, according to the Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS):

"DHS notes that individuals without a REAL ID-compliant document will still be able to enter federal facilities and board commerical aircraft..." (Final REAL ID rule)
