Beware Democrats Wanting to “Work Together”

The people have spoken. The Republicans have won big. President Obama has been repudiated, even if he claims it isn’t so. He said his policies were on the ballot, and Americans said if these are your policies, we don’t want your candidates.

As one Democrat after the next fell in defeat, liberal media and Democrat Senators kept singing the same tune: Republicans must work together with Democrats:

“Let’s find ways to work together…Let’s all get in a rowboat and row in the same direction.” – Sen. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), wife of retiring John Dingell (author of annual single-payer bills) who was elected in 1955 and re-elected 29 times.

“The message from voters is clear: they want us to work together. I look forward to working with Senator McConnell to get things done for the middle class.” – Sen. Harry Reid, U.S. Senate Majority Leader

This “togetherness” was never deemed a valuable asset when the Democrats were in charge. Indeed, Harry Reid made sure they didn’t have to work with Republicans when it came to judicial appointments. They changed Senate filibuster rules so President Obama could pack the D.C. Court of Appeals, which is now considering an important appeal of a lawsuit that could sink Obamacare.

If Senator Harry Reid really wants to “get things done for the middle class,” he will vote to repeal Obamacare, the nation’s largest-ever tax increase on the American public. The mandate to purchase high-priced government-defined coverage has taken a huge chunk of change from middle-class pockets and handed it over to managed care health plans, Obama’s comrades-in-arms for the federal takeover of health care.

Amazingly, key Republicans may need to be pushed to deep-six Obamacare. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, after hemming and hawing and being repeatedly pressed in an interview with Megan Kelly on Fox News, finally admitted that he’d only move to repeal Obamacare “when we have ability to replace it at the same time.” Democrats must be grinning from ear to ear.

McCarthy needs courage. Perhaps he should call the Wizard of Oz.

When exactly will this GOP “alternative” be ready?

·      After more Americans have lost their coverage?

·      After more people are forced into Obamacare and paying to keep Obama’s exchange system propped up?

·      After the IRS fines the uncovered and goes after people to “clawback” the inappropriate subsidies HHS paid to health plan on their behalf?

·      After more millions and billions have been spent?

·      After Obama issues more executive orders to expand Obamacare dependency?

This is exactly why Americans do not trust Congress. One party wields power like a sword, ruthlessly attacking all principles of the constitutional rule of law. The other party all too often joins in its demise behind the scenes -- or leaves its sword at home, too afraid to stand up to protect and defend the Constitution.

Who will repeal Obamacare if not Republicans? It’s time for Republicans to lead, not limp around with vague assurances of future yet-to-be-determined, we’ll-get-to-it-if-we-can-ever-agree promises.

I am asking you for your help to make sure CCH Freedom can remain fully engaged in the battle for repeal of Obamacare. We want to secure health freedom and all the blessings of liberty granted under the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. History has shown that too many people in power do not understand, support or know how to defend the two founding documents that created America and set it apart as “a shining city on a hill.”
