Our request asks for any documentation that OCR has received or sent to physicians and other providers regarding providing care to patients who refuse to sign the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. CCHF Releases ‘Health Care Sharing Comparison Chart’

CCHF Releases ‘Health Care Sharing Comparison Chart’

More than 1 million Americans have found alternatives to rising health care costs through health care sharing ministries. In 2010, prior to health care sharing being authorized as an exemption to the Affordable Care Act’s insurance mandate, Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF) issued a comprehensive report on this innovative, free-market coverage option. In anticipation of open enrollment, which begins on November 1, CCHF has updated its chart comparing the four largest health care sharing options. The chart is available here.

Hospital Price Transparency

Hospital Price Transparency

Despite a federal law that mandates that hospitals display the costs of their services and treatments to patients, less than 15% of hospitals do so. This legislation provides protections to patients who are unaware of the costs (due to a failure of the hospital to comply with price transparency laws) associated with their treatment costs.

ALERT: Federal "Social Determinants of Health" Agenda

ALERT: Federal 'Social Determinants of Health' Agenda

Social determinants of health (SDOH) have begun to appear throughout health policy legislation. Viewing every facet of a person's life as a health care issue, and a reason for government intervention, is a Marxist idea that will lead to centralization of the entire economy. Incorporating SDOH into health care will also limit patient and physician freedom. Doctors may face litigation for not following SDOH-driven treatment protocols that require one-size-fits-all medical care—despite the unique needs of every patient.
