ST. PAUL, Minn.— As Obamacare prepares to officially kick off on October 1, 2013, Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF, www.cchfreedom.org) launches the national “Refuse to Enroll” campaign with a flier detailing steps Americans can take to stop its implementation.
MNSURE, Minnesota’s Exchange, recently placed a premium calculator online to estimate the cost of Exchange coverage. Middle income families and individuals that choose government exchange coverage will have to think twice before accepting a raise or choosing to work.

(St. Paul/Minneapolis) Today, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton released his list of seven appointees to the MNsure health insurance exchange governance board. Twila Brase, president and co-founder of Citizens' Council for Health Freedom provides the following statement in response:
CCHF President, Twila Brase, was published in the Pioneer Press on April 17, 2013 regarding legislation in the Minnesota House and Senate that would grant authority for DNA and personal medical information to be collected, stored and used for research WITHOUT individual consent. On April 10, 2013, CCHF Presidenta Twila Brase spoke at a press conference hosted by Rep. Peggy Scott opposing the creation of a DNA BioBank by the state of Minnesota. She was joined Dr. Michelle Goodwin, a Bioethics professor from the U of M, and several other members of the MN House and Senate.

“The Minnesota legislature is proposing to create a biobank of genetic information including biological specimens and health data. The Minnesota Department of Health biobank would be exempt from the Minnesota Genetic Privacy Act, and its informed written consent requirement. Therefore they could collect, store, use, and disseminate genetic information without individual consent.
