Obama’s delay is dangerous to freedom. On July 2, at 6:00 p.m. just before the Independence Day holiday, the administration quietly stated in a blog post (of all things!) that the Obamacare employer mandate would be delayed by one year, until January 1, 2015. The U.S. Treasury put out a separate blog post. There was no press release. This understated process was meant to make the delay look like “no big deal.” But it is.

Obamacare officially kicked off on October 1, 2013 with open enrollment through the state and federal government health exchanges. Exchanges, which are key to implementing health care reform, threaten individual choices, privacy, freedom and pocketbooks.

There is an Obamacare surveillance system. Surveillance is national news today...except in health care. That needs to change. The National Security Administration (NSA) is not the only agency spying on citizens without their consent or knowledge. And the problem is going to get worse under the federal reform law, empowering the IRS in ways we've never seen before.

Text of HR 2022 introduced by Cong. Diane Black from Tennessee to prohibit the implementation or enforcement of any requirement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act until certifications are made that taxpayer information is not and will not be used for targeting any individual or group that provides information to the Internal Revenue Service for political reasons or on the basis of political views, and for other purposes. She is currently seeking additional cosponsors.

MNSURE, Minnesota’s Exchange, recently placed a premium calculator online to estimate the cost of Exchange coverage. Middle income families and individuals that choose government exchange coverage will have to think twice before accepting a raise or choosing to work.
