Obamacare tremors are getting stronger. The latest poll shows 53% of voters view the law unfavorably. This is an all-time high level of opposition. Please donate today to our efforts to build the CCHF refuse2enroll campaign! Who will control your doctor? Yesterday the U.S. Energy and Commerce House health subcommittee voted to pass a version of the bipartisan 70-page draft “SGR repeal” bill that will change the way Medicare pays your doctor and other clinicians. The bill repeals a longstanding contentious system of yearly payment cuts under a law called the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) -- but then it puts government in charge of doctors.

The union bosses are not happy about Obamacare. Last week, the leaders of three major U.S. unions, including James P. Hoffa of the Teamsters, sent a scathing open letter to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, Democratic leaders in Congress. They warn that if the law does not change, Obamacare will “destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking Americans.”

Obama’s delay is dangerous to freedom. On July 2, at 6:00 p.m. just before the Independence Day holiday, the administration quietly stated in a blog post (of all things!) that the Obamacare employer mandate would be delayed by one year, until January 1, 2015. Do you have a heart or a brain? You’ve heard it said, “If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” Apparently a version of this statement was first uttered by a mid-nineteenth century French historian and statesman, François Guizot. I thought Winston Churchill said it, but even the Churchill Centre says there’s no record of such.

There is an Obamacare surveillance system. Surveillance is national news today...except in health care. That needs to change. The National Security Administration (NSA) is not the only agency spying on citizens without their consent or knowledge. And the problem is going to get worse under the federal reform law, empowering the IRS in ways we've never seen before.

Imagine the end of Obamacare. It is more than possible. The law has an Achilles’ heel of mammoth proportions. I looked up the meaning of the term “Achilles’ heel”: “An Achilles’ heel is a deadly weakness in spite of overall strength, that can actually or potentially lead to downfall.” Let those words, “deadly weakness” and “lead to downfall” settle with hope over your mental synapses.
The health care reform debate is littered with false statements. Truth is hard to come by. However, several recent news stories counter a whole series of mistruths and half-truths. Here are just three falsehoods -- there are many more, including one countered in our news release below -- and the new facts and findings that counter the false claims:
Employers have found an Obamacare loophole. According to ACA regulations, "minimum essential coverage" with a robust and rich set of benefits is required only for plans offered to individuals and small businesses with less than 50 employees.
