President Trump promised to drain the swamp. But finding the plug in the boggy mire and pulling it out has proved difficult. That said, the swamp is no longer functioning with its usual efficiency. Congress is having more difficulty getting bills passed. There’s dissension in the ranks and impasse is common. That’s mostly a good thing.

It’s not true. All claims about “repealing” the Affordable Care Act play loosey-goosey with the term “repeal” and they know it. None of the votes so far have been on a real repeal bill. This week, Senate Republicans wanted a political win, but they were not planning to repeal the ACA.

Health plans are fear-mongering. They’re threatening to hike insurance premiums unless President Trump pays subsidies that even the Democrats refused to fund. Now the Congressional Budget Office piles on, agreeing that premiums will increase if Trump refuses to pay the ACA cost-sharing reduction (CSR) subsidies to health plans.

“We aren’t stupid” two Senate aides told Axios. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is not even letting other senators see the GOP Senate’s “repeal and replace” Obamacare bill. They plan to submit it to the Congressional Budget Office before making it public.. The vote may happen before or just after the July 4 recess. Despite the bill being a secret, one reporter claims moderates are winning and conservatives are losing.
