Refuse the REAL ID in 2024!

As 2023 comes to an end, Americans are left wondering about what the future holds for REAL ID in 2024.

As you may know, CCHF has actively fought REAL ID for many years.

Congress recently held a hearing on REAL ID. Keep the elements of Marxist control, such as Chinese social credit scores, in mind as you read these statements from the lead testifier, the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA).

In their December 5, 2023 testimony, titled “Identity Management Innovation: Looking Beyond REAL ID,” AAMVA said the following statements. (Note: The titles for the quotes are mine.)

  • SEIZING CONTROL OF YOUR PHONE: “It is becoming increasingly clear that the future of identity management lies in the credential’s ability to be integrated onto a mobile device.”
  • REAL-TIME CONTROL OF LIFE/ACCESS/PURCHASES: “The mDL [Mobile Driver’s License] is the future of licensing and proof of identity. An mDL is a driver’s license that is provisioned to a mobile device with the capability to be updated in real time.”
  • COOK THE FROG SLOWLY: “While AAMVA anticipates the mDL will eventually be used as a singular identity credential, we recognize for the immediate future both the physical card and the mDL must coexist for redundancy and operationally significant reasons.”
  • ALSO, THOUGH NO LAW REQUIRES THIS GOAL: “AAMVA members serve at the critical nexus of public safety and law enforcement by working to reach the goal of “one driver, one license, one record” for every individual operating a motor vehicle in The United States.”

Note that, under states’ rights, Americans should be able to have more than one STATE driver’s license.

The 2005 Real ID Act is intended to snuff out 10th Amendment states’ rights by federalizing the licensing system. No state has to comply with the 2005 federal law, but most have, although only four states mandate REAL ID for all residents.

AAMVA, through state regulators, has long worked to federalize driver’s licenses through their “one driver, one license, one record” goal.

On the health care level, REAL ID, along with REAL ID on mDLs, will lead to “no card, no care” and the end of medical privacy and personal autonomy in care decisions. That’s why CCHF has always fought it.

The federal deadline for full state compliance is May 7, 2025. Today, because nearly half of all Americans do not have REAL ID compliant documentation, one member of Congress said, there will be “mayhem” at the airport.

Indeed, only 52% of Americans are REAL ID ready, including those who have military IDs, passports, enhanced driver’s licenses, and more

REAL ID AND mDL must be stopped. Together with your support, we can stop the REAL ID. We are grateful to stand with you in the fight for freedom at every level – in 2024 and beyond!
