ST. PAUL, Minn. — Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom released the following statement by CCHF president and co-founder Twila Brase on President Trump’s autism announcement:

“We thank President Trump and his administration for focusing on the eradication and treatment of autism, a rapidly rising neurological condition that is devastating to autistic children and their families.

“President Trump speaking about the dangers of acetaminophen, standing against the one-size-fits-all childhood vaccination schedule, encouraging depoliticized research, and allowing parents to make decisions for their children without being limited by political or profit agendas is a breath of fresh air coming from the White House.

“Given that the federal HIPAA rule does not protect patient consent requirements or patient privacy rights, the President and his administration must require written informed parent and patient consent before researchers access patient medical records.

“We are encouraged by this administration’s willingness to publicly question outdated mandates and support parental rights in medical decision-making. CCHF will continue to advocate for ethical research, full informed consent, and real privacy protections for all Americans.”
