National Coalition Advances State Legislation to Prohibit Medical Mandates

CCHF joins coalition building on Idaho’s 2025 Medical Freedom Act.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF) has joined the Medical Freedom Act Coalition, a national effort created to advance Medical Freedom Act model legislation in states across the country.

The coalition, built by Stand for Health Freedom (SHF) and the Health Freedom Defense Fund (HFDF), was announced Jan. 8, 2026. Its purpose is to support state-by-state adoption of Medical Freedom Act legislation that prohibits medical mandates and restores rights related to informed consent, parental authority, and the doctor–patient relationship.

The coalition is built on support for Idaho’s 2025 passage of the Medical Freedom Act, described by SHF as the nation’s first. The model legislation affirms a core principle: no one, and no government, has the right to mandate medical interventions.

“Medical decisions must remain in the hands of patients, families, and their chosen health care practitioners,” said Twila Brase, RN, PHN, co-founder and president of CCHF. “CCHF supports legislation that prohibits government from imposing coercive medical mandates and protects informed consent, parental authority, and the doctor–patient relationship.”

The coalition’s work is guided by SHF’s state directors and grassroots partners, with coalition members providing strategic support. SHF and HFDF are also inviting other organizations committed to medical freedom, informed consent, and constitutional governance to join the coalition.

Current organizations participating in the coalition include Autism Action Network, Brownstone Institute, Children’s Health Defense, Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom, Feds for Freedom, Freedom Counsel, Global Wellness Forum, Independent Medical Alliance, MAHA Action, MAHA Institute, Moms Across America, We the Patriots USA, and Weston A. Price Foundation.

CCHF will continue its work to protect patient and doctor freedom, defend medical privacy, and support state laws and policies that uphold informed patient and parent consent.
